CASE SUMMARY
In late 1983, the tragic discovery of a lifeless woman was made in a ditch alongside a busy Cambridgeshire motorway.
She had been violently beaten to death, prompting the immediate launch of a murder investigation.
The victim was quickly identified as a successful and popular married solicitor from London, however no motive for the violent crime could be established.
As the investigation unfolded, a number of strange details were uncovered,
Such as an unknown individual purchasing a set of registration plates matching those on the victim’s car only hours after the discovery of the body, and the vehicle itself being discovered abandoned over 60 miles away in the English capital the following week, just a few miles from the victim’s home.
Despite a number of promising leads and various theories proposed over the years, the murder remains of one Cambridgeshire’s most baffling mysteries.
